Good morning!! Today I am so excited to be doing a post as Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate! If you have never been to the DTC blog, please stop by & check it out! Amazing ideas & tons of inspiration over there! :)
This month at DTC, there is a HUGE birthday celebration going on! This month is Rhonda's bday & next month is Amy's! SO they have decided to celebrate all month long with guest designers, blog hops & many more exciting events!
With this being a Birthday Celebration, I decided to start on my Mom's birthday invitations! She is turning 60 on Dec 17th so we are throwing a big party for her here at my house! How exciting!! So this week I will be showing you the invitations & some "place setting" cards! Next week, I will be doing the party favors & some decorations, so be sure to come back for that!
Here are the invitations...
I printed out the wording on the computer & then ran it through my Big Shot with the "Gracie O's" embossing folder..I honestly can not believe it came out so well!! LOL! Everything fit perfectly! And on the first try! :) I inked the edges and then cut some butterflies with my Butterfly Embosslit from Stampin Up! I just had to use purple since it is Mom's favorite color too! Like Mother, like Daughter...we both LOVE purple!! I layered some of the butterflies and added some rhinestones to their middles and some to the "breaks" between the wording. And then added some Stickles to the edges of the wings! Here is a close-up of the invitation....
Since we will be having so many people here, it won't be a sit down dinner but instead a "light dinner" or appetizers. SO instead of making place cards for everyone, I am making food place cards (??) Little signs that will be placed in front of the food so everyone knows what everything is! Maybe I should say "food labels"?? Hmm...not too sure but you get the idea!
Not completely sure what we will be serving so I just made up a sample card to show....
I used all the same techniques as I did in the invitation because of course, everything has to coordinate! :)
I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Amy & Rhonda for letting me be a Guest Designer today & I hope you enjoyed the projects! Come on back next Wed the 16th for the rest of the party decorations! :) And be sure to stop in at DTC all month for some wonderful birthday ideas!!
Until next time...
