Organization Friday

Today I am going to do a short post about more organization!! I said last Friday that I wanted to start a weekly post about organization, but I had also hoped to have a project too. I am working on SO many projects right now, but they need to be saved for the blog hop this weekend, a swap I am doing & also for my club meeting on Saturday! Plus even a few more DT posts thrown in there too!! Whew!! So for today I will just do organization!

For years I have had Stampin Up markers (love them!!) plus Sharpies & other markers. I have tried so many different storage ideas! From Stampin Up stamp cases to pencil boxes to containers w/the X in them...I knew I wanted my markers stored laying flat as opposed to standing up (they say it's better for the markers) but I also wanted them within reach and not hidden away! First of all they are all so pretty & you know the saying "Out of sight-Out of mind"...well that is SO true!! So a couple of months ago, I thought "What about Crystal Light containers??" They are the perfect size! But that would mean they would be standing up....well not like this!!
I have also seen this done with PVC pipe! But Crystal Light containers (that I had lying around) are MUCH cheaper!!  I took 10 Crystal Light containers & covered them with different co-ordinating papers. The  I used my trusty glue gun to glue them together! I then just screwed it into the wall & now I have the perfect (for me!!) marker storage!! More can be added on if needed, so it can grow with me & my craftyness! LOL!!

Well, I hope this helped you in some way...even if it made you want to go organize something else! :) Come on back this weekend for the Blog Hop and some pics from our club meeting on World Card Making Day!! :)

Until next time....

Altered Picture Frame

Good morning!! Wow, it has been one heck of a week!! Football practice, football game, Open House, PTSA Board Mtgs...whew!! I am SO ready for the weekend to rest & relax! Wonder if that will actually happen?? :)

Today is my day to post over at Becky's Sweet Creations! Our DT challenge this week was to find a fun project of our choice...something that we have been needing to work on, wanting to work on, or just something new we wanted to try. On Monday afternoon I got a call for an order of an altered picture frame! SO I thought this was perfect to post for today's challenge!

The "order" was for a friend of hers that son is getting married this weekend. SO she wanted something to give to the Mother-of-the-Groom to put a picture of the married couple OR she could put a picture of her & her son on his wedding day! So I knew I wanted to do a wedding type theme but thought if the mother decided to put a pic of her & her son, I didn't think she would want it to look like THEY got married! LOL So I decided to do a cream/gold color scheme with some flowers & pearls!
I also inked the edges with a chestnut ink! It looks so elegant & not too "weddingy"!! Ha!! What kind of stupid word is that?? But I think you get my point! :)

This weekend is the big 100 cart blog hop over at My Cricut Craft Room...so be sure to come back for that! Also, Oct 1st (Sat) is World Card Making Day!! I am having my monthly club meeting on Sat, so we will definitely be making cards with plenty of pics to post afterwards!! Busy weekend...but a good busy! Crafty busy!! :)

Until next time....

Boys, boys, BOYS!!

Just the other night I was doing laundry...again!! Does it EVER end?? LOL!! Well, I was doing laundry & I came in to the living room & said "I am so tired of icky, stinky BOY SMELL!!" Then I realized that I have a husband, 2 teen-age boys (1 in football...gross stinky smelly all the time!!) AND even all my inside animals are male!! 1 dog, 2 cats & ready for this...even my turtle is male!! Holy cow!! I need some female something in my life!! :)

So maybe that would explain why the last few things I have crafted...have been for males!! Boys, boys, BOYS!!! And todays card is for....a boy!! But OMG I just think this is SO cute!! I have been wanting the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder & now it is hard to find! Well my BCB (best crafting buddy) got it, so when I went over there last weekend I used it & embossed some papers for later use. She had some silver cardstock and I knew I had to have it done in that paper!! It is SO cool!!! Looks just like Hubby's toolbox on his truck! Love it!! So here is the first card I have made with it....

I used Real Red & Basic Black cardstock form Stampin Up....And the truck is from Everyday Paper Dolls, I didn't do much detailing on the truck...since it is for a boy & I really think they don't care!! LOL!! I added some washers for the tires & of course the Diamond Plate embossed silver cardstock!

Tomorrow I will finally be showing some frilly, girly crafting again!! Whew! No more boys! Well at least not in my crafting! And this weekend is the 100 Cart Blog Hop over at My Cricut Craft Room! I will be featuring 3 different Cricut carts on Sunday...with of course some BLOG CANDY!! Be sure to come back & check it out!

Until next time...

Card Creating Tuesday

Welcome to Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room! Today is the favorite day of most of the Design Team! We get to create any card, any theme, any color!! So today I decided to do a very simple card that would be a great card for a male! Male cards are hard since you don't want too much bling, too much frills, or too much prettiness! Well I guess I should say none at all!! :)

This didn't start as a manly card...I actually have been wanting to make this cut (I used Wild Card cart for this cut) for a while & somehow used the blues to cut it. Then  I saw the embellishment, I think it's called a rosette or fan fold, not too sure! Anyway, my BCB gave me a couple of packages of these & all of a sudden it hit me! This is what I want to work with! They came with some epoxy stickers for the middle but I decided to stamp my sentiment in the middle instead! Then I added a "ring" around the middle to match the cardstock on the back!

I really like how this turned out! It can be done with ANY color combo & can be "blinged" up for a female card too! Such versatility!! :)

Well that's all for today! I got a call today for a baby shower & some other orders so I will be busy this week with LOTS to post! :) Head on back to My Cricut Craft Room  for more inspiration from some of the Design Team!

Until next time...

IMAGINE-ation Monday

Good Monday Morning!! Hope everyone had a great weekend...I had THE BEST weekend!!! More on that later...but for now, a project!

Today is IMAGINE-ation Monday over at My Cricut Craft Room! Today is the day that the Design Team uses Cricut Imagine to show off some of the great features of that machine. Now, I personally do not own an Imagine, but my BCB (Best Crafting Buddy) does! SO last weekend I went over there to play on her Imagine! Before I get to the project, I have to share a very funny story!! I go over there & pick out what image I want to use....It was a tree branch w/some flowers & birds. So I pick my sizes, load my paper & set the machine to print & cut. Meanwhile, we were also going through some of her paper stacks so we can share the paper, you know there in almost no way to use an entire paper stack, so we share some & that way we also get different papers without having to buy the whole stack! Anyway, the Imagine is printing & cutting away and when it was done all the images were pink & purple!! Now I love purple but in a tree??? LOL!! So we checked the settings, & tried again...same thing!! We must have print & cut that like 5 times!! Different sizes, different settings, checked ink levels...never did figure out why it printed in purple! And then, sometimes, some of the images wouldn't print at all, but only cut!

So instead I chose this image & made this card....
This image is from "Better Together" and I just used some pattern paper I have here at home! And a stamp from My Pink Stamper!

I have also decided I WILL make a card with that dang purple tree!! LOL!!

Now for my weekend...Friday night I went over to Tammy's again (BCB) and we made some cards, printed more images on the Imagine (which by the way, came out great!!) and just played around! THEN on Saturday....drum roll please...DEF LEPPARD!!! Holy smokes that was an AMAZING concert!!! It was even better than I ever imagined! Joe Elliot (lead singer) & all the others were still rockin even though SOME people say they are old! HA!! Whatever!! They put on an awesome show!! My ears are still ringing & my throat is still sore from all the screaming & singing!! Here are a "couple" of pics taken with my sons cell phone, my brother also took some & I am waiting (not too patiently!!) for him to upload them!! He has all the pics of us sitting in the audience!

 Joe Elliot (lead singer)
 Awesome pics of the screens
 Vivian Cambell
 Rick Savage
 Rick Savage
 Phil Collen
 "Rocket" Baby!!
Rick Allen on the screen but this is a pretty good pic of them on stage...
AMAZING concert!!! Can't wait to see them again next time!! :)

Sorry for the lengthy post but obviously I was so excited about the concert!! :) Head on back to My Cricut Craft Room to see more IMAGINE-ation Monday!!

Until next time....

Guest Designer + Organization Fridays

Good morning to everyone!! I was recently asked to be a guest designer for a challenge over at Love to Crop! So of course I jumped at the chance again! This is my 2nd time over there and I hope to have MANY more! :) I'm sure you have been to Amy's blog many times but if not...you MUST go!! Amy is a wonderful person with SO much creativity!!

Our challenge this time was to make our project with all SCRAPS!! I heard that & thought "hmm, that sounds easy enough"! But it was NOT!! I maybe took it to the extreme but I wanted to make sure my entire card was scraps...card base, mats, even down to the twine! Well, I accomplished just that!!
I used a "new-to-me" cart "Hoot n Holler" to cut my owl @ 3 1/2" ...using ALL scraps! Here are my scraps that I started with...
And here are my scraps on my mat getting ready to be cut....
Then using my white scrap again, I stamped "You're A Hoot" (Stamps of Life- Owls2love) Now this stamp would not fit in my punch shape as it is a one line stamp....BUT I just inked up the "You're A" and stamped that, then inked "Hoot" & stamped it underneath! :)

And here is the inside...again with scraps, I actually had this piece already punched from a previous project that I didn't use! I just added the small owl stamp from Owls2love!
I have been thinking about starting a series of posts about how I organize my crafty supplies and what better way then today!! So today will be the first in the series of Organization Friday and for today I will focus on what?? SCRAPS!!

I have tried just about everything to store my scraps! File boxes, plastic drawers, ziploc bags in my file cabinet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock...but now I am SURE I have found the right solution...for me! Here is how I store my scraps...
This is from Cropper Hopper & it is actually a Sticker Stadium which can be found here! (and of course I used my coupon!!) I then used my label maker to identify each section. I like to use the old school way of "red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown, white" I don't even do "indigo" or "pink"...just plain 'ole colors! And in the very last section on the top is my Stampin Up designer paper scraps! I like to keep these separate! Here is a side view to show it isn't even at it's full capacity...yet!! What is nice about this too, is you can put them in any order that works for you!
And I have it sitting right in between my Cricut & my 12x12 solid cardstock
So when I go to make my cuts, I look in my scraps FIRST!! I have been using my scraps a lot more since doing this! I love love love it!! :)

Now it's your turn! Organize those scraps & jump in on the Scraps challenge over at Love to Crop! Be sure to "link up" your project over at Amy's so we can all see what YOU have done with your scraps & for your chance to win a special prize from Amy!!

Theme Day Thursday-Wedding

Good morning! Welcome to Theme Day Thursday over at My Cricut Craft Room! On this day, we as the Design Team, have different themes each week to work with! Today is weddings!! This weekend, Erica's (AKA My Cricut Craft Room) brother is getting married to one of our Design Team members Melissa!! Congrats to you Melissa!! I wish you the best in your new married life!! :) I hope your wedding is everything you have ever dreamed about!

Who doesn't love weddings? A new beginning, a start to an exciting new life, everything is so pretty & it is like a fairy-tale come true for the bride! I remember my wedding almost 21 years ago...we were so young & had no idea what life had in store for us! But 21 yrs later, we are still happy & we can laugh everyday with each other! Love ya Honey!!

Anyway, on to the project! I haven't made a wedding card in a LONG time! In fact, I think I have only made maybe 2 or 3 since I have been crafting! Everyone we know is already married! So this was a stretch for me, but I did get to use a cart I had never used before "Tie The Knot" This is Mom's cart, so "Thank you Mom!!" :)

The champagne glasses are cut at 2 3/4" and the "Mr & Mrs" is cut at 1 1/4". The Mr & Mrs gave me all kinds of trouble!! I must have cut it at least 4 times to get the right size!! Still learning, still learning!! The background paper is a gorgeous, but retired :( designer paper from Stampin Up. And of course, champagne glasses wouldn't be complete with out some Stickles!

Now head on back to My Cricut Craft Room for more weddings projects!

And be sure to come back tomorrow...I was asked to be a Guest Designer at a super amazing blog!! Post will be up tomorrow! :) How exciting!!

Altered Tealight Challenge

Good morning & welcome to my first post as a member of Becky's Sweet Creations DT!! I am so excited to be a part of this new DT! This is a brand new DT & I wish Becky (and all of us!!) nothing but the best luck in our time together! :)

Our first challenge was to alter a tealight...Becky saw a video on YouTube & thought it would be great challenge for all of us! I have altered tealights before so I knew I would LOVE this challenge! But this time, I used my Cricut to make my box!

I just love how these turn out!! Such a small package but you get a HUGE reaction when you give it to someone as a gift!!

I cut my box on Tags, Bags, Boxes & More at 6.5" (BTW, I had NO clue what size to cut this box at!! I started with a 6" box & just went up from there!) . The mats are 1 3/4" square & 1 1/2" square.
The tealight base is covered with a 3/4"  x 5 1/4" strip and scallop circle punch from Stampin Up is on the top. I covered it with pearls & flowers to finish it off!

Glad you stopped by & hope this will "challenge" you to make an altered tealight for yourself! Go check out Becky's Sweet Creations for more wonderful projects!!

Until next time...

Card Creating Tuesday!!

Welcome to another Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!! Today is the Design Team's favorite day because we can create ANY card we want! Any them, any color...the possibilities are endless!!

If you have been following my blog, you will know that I am trying to learn how to use my Gypsy! I know there are SO many cool things to do but 1st I have learn from the beginning! So today I decided to show you a couple of very simple cards that I designed on my Gypsy while waiting for my tires to be replaced! I wanted something simple because I am still learning about all the layers...I keep forgetting to make sure I have all my layers so when I cut, there is almost always something missing! Grrr!! BUT this cart, A Child's Year, has no layers except for the shadow layer! SO I thought it would be easy to design somewhere & then come back later & cut! And boy oh boy was it ever easy! So if you are starting out on your Gypsy, this is a GREAT cart to use!!
I also used my new set of Pink By Design stamps, Cowgirl Up! I used More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy & Basic Black (all Stampin' Up colors) and some background paper from The Paper Studio!!
I really like how these turned out & I love that they are very simple & can be duplicated in many colors!!

Thanks for stopping by and head back over to My Cricut Craft Room for more DT creations!!

Until next time....

Just for Justin!!

Good afternoon!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Ours was relaxing, fun & totally on the fly! No plans, no practices...wonderful!! And last night we ended our nice weekend with a thunderstorm!! Thunder, lightning & LOTS of rain!! But oh boy did we need it!!

On Saturday my brother, Justin, came by & saw a card I had laying on my table. It has a Koala Bear on it & he said "Cute card!!...BUT it would be better with a Panda!!" Well ok...so Justin, here is your Panda card!! :) Just for you!
Panda & Bamboo were made with Create-A-Critter & the background paper is DCWV Safari

Now for those of you that don't know...I was 17 yrs old & a Senior in HS when my brother was born! My Mom says "2nd marriage & SURPRISE!!" LOL!! So since I was 17, I helped out alot & thought of him as like a son! I didn't have my 1st son until I was 25 (Justin was 8) so he was all I had until then! Now that he is older (25 in Dec) we have become like best friends/brother/sister!! He is always there for me & he KNOWS I will always be there for him! He is the best brother anyone can ask for! And the "coolest Uncle EVER" to my boys!

So Justin, this is for you!! Oh and he also fixed my blog button over there so now it will actually GO TO MY BLOG & not PhotoBucket!! Yay Justin!! :) Now if I can just get him to help my with tabs & watermarks & SO many other comp issues!! He is a "Computer Blah Blah" as I always say because I can never remember what his job title is! Kind of reminds me of the Friends where no one knew what Chandler did!! LOL! That' is how I feel about Justin's job!! Anyway, he works on computers all day so like they "The painters house is never painted" Well my computers are always last on the list just like my house is never fixed because Hubby is a carpenter....but that's a whole 'nother story!! :)

Tomorrow I will have a post from My Cricut Craft Room DT! Come on back & see what I made this time...You won't be disappointed! (or at least I hope not!!LOL!!)

Love ya Justin!!
Until next time....

Girls Weekend!!

Ok unfortunately it's not MY Girls Weekend! :( But my all time favorite customer friend is having a girls weekend & wanted place cards for the table & a little treat jar for each of them! How fun is that?? So here are the candy jars & place cards!

On the place cards are little shopping bags with each of their initials! And of course lots of fringe!! :)

Also, after making all the other large candy jars for her to give as gifts, she decided that she wanted one for her self! Only makes sense huh?? So of course it had to be pink, black, white & fringe!!
I just love making these jars!! They are so cool to have on your desk or in your house with LOTS of candy!! :)

Tonight I sat & made some birthday cards (more like last night's post) and then I actually got to make 3 others..just for fun!! I will be sharing those with you this weekend! I am so happy that we have NO plans this weekend!! It's going to be so nice to just sit around & relax! I hope to get some stuff organized around here & then have some relaxing time with the boys! Have a great weekend!! :)

I am also posting this project to Made it Myself Monday!

Happy Mistake!!

Well I did it again!! I was using my Gypsy to design some cards tonight, I just got my Gypsy about 4-5 months ago so I am still learning how to find all the images & look through all my carts on there! And then when I do find the image I want, I sometimes forget all the layers...or like tonight, can't tell which is the image & which is the shadow!! I am learning but not as fast as I want to! So tonight I wanted to design some birthday cards for the DT Birthday Club. I used the cupcake image from Simply Charmed, made sure I had ALL the layers! I used the "hide" feature to hide the face so I could use my Peachy Keen stamps! Then I wanted the background to be cut out of Elegant Edges. I used the same background on this card but I didn't use my Gypsy on the previous card. I wanted to use my Gypsy & NOT my handbook so I picked out my image (after going through almost all of them trying to find the right one! If anyone knows an easier way to do this...PLEASE let me know!)

So I put my image on my mat & also added the shadow. When I cut them on my Cricut, I accidentally put the paper in the wrong places! So I cut my shadow with my image color & vise-versa...It was getting late so I didn't want to do it over & thought "Why not TRY to use what I cut??!" So I did!! And I LOVE how it turned out!! LOL!!
So this was SUPPOSED to be cut in pink with a brown mat, but instead I cut the main image in brown & the mat in pink! I already had my card base picked out & all my other pieces too! Now if I wouldn't have told you all this, you probably wouldn't have even known it was a mistake...AGAIN!! :) But I just love it when this happens! Now believe me, it doesn't happen ALOT...but when it does...YAY!!! LOL!! The "squiggly" background paper is from The Paper Studio-Birthday Extravaganza stack! It works so well with the image from Elegant Edges!!

I also have to show the COOLEST thing my Mom bought for my desk!
OMG!! I just LOVE this thing!! I have to smile every time I look at her!! It has a large magnet on the top of her head so all the paper clips just stand up & flip over all over the place!! :) So stinkin cute!!! Thanks Mom!!

Tomorrow I will have some really cute candy jars I finished up tonight & matching place cards! Place cards? Candy jars? It must be a party!! Stay tuned ...

Until next time...

Would You Guess Wednesday

Hello!! And welcome to another installment of Would You Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!! We, as the Design Team, use this day to focus on the feature buttons on the your Cricut overlays! There are a few other ways to do WYGW, but I think this is my favorite! I love using the feature keys & using my Cricut carts to their full advantage!! :) Here are some other ways of doing WYGW:

Would you guess… Wednesdays- On this day, there are 4 ways to do this day.

1. We use ONLY the features on the cartridges, this applies to all three ways to do this day
What this means is when you look at the handbook, you cannot use the main image on the left side of the page. But you can use ALL of the other features or layers.
2. Also you can use a CAKE cartridge to make a Paper creation.
3 On certain days we can use the same paper and see what everyone does with the same paper collection
4. You may also pick a 'partner'... Basically we partner up and use the same cartridge with the same pages, sizes and cuts.

So when you go to My Cricut Craft Room, you may see some of these other examples listed above! But I chose to use only the feature keys!

Today I decided to use Beyond Birthdays & make a "Congrats" card! Here is a pic of the handbook page I used & the 2 function keys I used are circled.
And here is the finished card...
The inside...

**When I first started cutting the "Congrats" part of this card, I had a brain hiccup & was cutting the "Shadow & Blackout Shadow" instead of the "framed image". Could not figure out why it wouldn't cut right! I had set my Cricut at "fit to page" to cut the card base which cut it at 9 1/2", so then I cut the "Congrats" at 9 1/2" and got this HUGE piece!! WHAT?? I tired to scale it down and cut it like 4 times before I realized my mistake!! DUH!! Need less to say I had tons of scraps flying around & actually used some them on the finished card!**

I used Stampin Up paper: Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi & Whisper White. I also used Beyond the Garden DSP from Stampin Up. I used and 8 1/2" x 11" and used "fit to page" to cut my card base. I cut the card base in Wild Wasabi & one sheet of DSP. Then cut off the front frame and adhered that onto the Wild Wasabi card. I cut the "Congrats" frame in Whisper White & Wild Wasabi. I used the Whisper White words & the Wild Wasabi frame. Out of the extra scraps from above (UGH!!) I used a Melon Mambo piece for a mat behind the words. Then cut the star (shift/framed) in Wild Wasabi. I added some opal bling to the corners that I got from Martha Stewart (The Birthstone Collection)

Now after I finished this card & was putting away my mess, I found some pieces that I had cut while trying to figure out the "Congrats" fiasco earlier! I had actually cut one perfect for inside of the frame so here is another pic with the extra image!
So even out of disasters come new ways to do the card!  Remember: There are no mistakes in crafting...only room for embellishments!! :)

I hope you enjoyed this Wold You Guess Wednesday! Head on over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what some of the other DT members have designed for you today!

Card Creating Tuesday!!

Welcome to another Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!! On this day, we as the Design Team, are asked to do just that!! Create cards!! LOL!! They can be any theme, any color, any cart! Just as long as it's a card! Well since that is my favorite thing to do, this is my favorite day!! :)

Today I decided to use Paper Doll Dress Up! I recently purchased my first sets of Pink By Design stamps & one of them is Cowgirl Up! I wanted to use this set, so I designed the card around the stamp set. Most of the time, I pick my papers first then decide on a stamp or Cricut image. But this time I knew I HAD to use these stamps! SO what else would I choose but a cowgirl!!
I also used DCWV Safari paper (AGAIN!!) and by the time I made the cowgirl & added the background paper...All I wanted on there was the small stamp "HOWDY YA'LL" Geez! After all that blabbering at the beginning of my post about the stamp set...all I use is a small sentiment?? LOL! But that's how it goes in "Craft World"!!

Hope you enjoyed today's post from Card Creating Tuesday! Head on over to My Cricut Craft Room to see more wonderful cards created by some of the other DT members! Oh and come on back tomorrow! I will have another post from the DT at My Cricut Craft Room! Tomorrow will be "Would You Guess Wednesday" and I have to say...I LOVE my card for that post!!! He He!! A little teaser! :) Come back & see for yourself!!

Until next time...

Queen of My Craft Room DT

Well this post is a little happy & a little sad, crafting sad, not life sad! A couple of months ago I tried out for another DT with Queen of My Craftroom & found out about a month later that I had made the team!! Yipee!! Now for the "sad" part...over the weekend the blog  owner decided to pull the plug on the DT due to personal reasons! Boo :( Of course I TOTALLY understand, but Boo!! So here is the 1st & the last post from Queen of My Craftroom DT!!

Our assignment was to make a project to commemorate Sept 11th. If you saw my post yesterday I did a "Remembering 9-11" post and now here are my cards I did for the DT
This was a harder assignment than I thought it would be! I didn't want to add too much...wanted to keep it simple, but wanted to make my point! But not have it be too "gaudy"!! Anyway, I cut the cityscape from Plantin Schoolbook ( I wouldn't have even guessed that this image was on there but I did a search on my Gypsy!!) Then I had some scraps of paper with the stars & added some ribbon that I got from a super great friend! :) THEN I had to come up with a sentiment!! Geez Louise!! Another hard part! I was going to print something from the computer but then started looking through my stamps & found this one!! Perfect!!

Now this next one, I had made this base a while back when I made all the comp books for the History teachers. I saw these 2 pieces laying there & thought "Oh cute card!!" Added some lace to it also...And have had this base sitting there for almost a month now! SO when the assignment came up, I thought Oh cool I have this ready!! But it just didn't fit, this wasn't about thanking someone for their service, it was about remembering those that lost their lives!

But now I think it could be sent to a serviceman oversees who are there fighting to keep us safe! SO it does tie into the whole 9-11 theme!
So now my reign as a Queen of My Craftroom DT member has screeched to a halt!! BUT the silver lining in the cloud....one of the other DT members has decided to start her own DT & has asked some of us to join her new team!! Which is awesome because "we" can be a part of her very 1st DT! Now THAT can be exciting!! I wish her all the luck in making this new venture work & hope that I can a part of her DT for a long time! :) I will share more details about the new DT as they become available!

Come on back tomorrow for a post from My Cricut Craft Room's DT Card Creating Tuesday!! I will have a card on there from Paper Doll Dress up!!

Until next time...

Remembering Sept. 11th...

(Picture credit: Lisa @ http://honeybearzdesigns2011.blogspot.com/ shared this on FaceBook)

Today is a day of remembering...remembering the people that lost their lives that day, the people that lost their family/friends that day, & remembering where & what you were doing on that day. Travis (now 16) was in 1st grade & Trevor (now 13) was 3 and still at home with me. I remember taking Travis to school & going to pick up tacos for my Mom (who worked at the school as Principal's Sec) and the other sec there. I heard about the 1st plane crash on the radio, but they were saying it was a small plane & looked like a horrible accident. I took the tacos back to school & left to come home...about the time I got home, the 2nd plane hit & we all knew what was going on. I remember being glued to the TV ALL day!! The school wouldn't let them turn on any TV's or radios so I kept calling in to my Mom with details. The only reason I didn't panic & run up to take Travis out of school was because my Mom was there & she could get him faster than I could!

Hubby stayed home from work along with his co-worker that had come over that morning. The three os us just sat staring at the TV as the plane hit the Pentagon & then the next plane fell to the ground in Pennsylvania. It was such a scary time...not knowing what would happen next...not knowing who/where was going to be hit next. We kept thinking about this being a military city, with all of our Military Bases in town. Every plane we heard fly over, we would hold our breath...and then the planes stopped...for days! It was strange to not see planes in the air here! And then when they started back up...another weird feeling!!

I kept the news & pics away from the boys, making sure they didn't know what was going on. I knew they were too young to understand that we were safe! I tried to make life as normal as possible. Knowing that so many would never have a "normal" life again. About a year later, I started showing Travis info on the day & talking about it. He had to know what was going on because his best friends Dad was being called to Iraq. He needed to know the danger he faced in Iraq & the reason we were so worried about him. Sadly he needed to know that Darren might not come home...and his friend could lose his dad. He needed to be there for his friend & I needed to be there for my friend (Darren's wife) Darren did make it home ok, but unfortunately many did not.

I hate that my kids had to know these "bad things" at such a young age...I hate that for so long after we would hold our breath for a split second when a plane flew over...I hate that our lives will never be the same.

I am grateful to all who sacrificed their lives to try and save others that day. I am grateful for the security we did feel that day...knowing that as much that was going on, we would be protected. And I am grateful that we were not directly affected by this tragedy.

Take a moment out of your day to be grateful for the things that you have now, in the past & in the future...

Until next time...

Pooh!!

Holy cow! I haven't posted since Thursday??? Wow!! It has been so busy the last couple of days...I thought once school started I would have alot more time! But, nope!! I think I have been busier in the last couple of weeks than all summer!! And I even gave up PTA in one school! Hmm...maybe I need to look at what the heck I am doing!!

Anyway, I got this Pooh cart from a super duper nice friend (you know who you are!!) and I have never cut with it! I just love Winnie-The-Pooh! He is so stinkin cute!! Fluffy & soft!! So the other day I had to go get my tires changed & I knew I would be waiting for at least an hour...so I took my Gypsy with me & created! Loved it!! I have 3 cards on there ready to cut & make! Can't wait to show you what I did at the tire shop! LOL!

SO here is one of them....my 1st (but def not my last!!) with Winnie-The-Pooh!!
Isn't he too cute??? The frame behind him is also on the cart! He is so easy to piece together too! I have heard stories about how hard some of the Disney carts are to piece together, but Pooh is so simple! SO I started with him! I will try a more difficult character later this week! Eeekkk!! I'm scared!!

Well tomorrow we are going to Family Reunion all day, so no crafting! :( BUT I am taking my Gypsy with me since we will be in the car for over an hour driving up there! More creating time! Yea!!

So probably no crafting post tomorrow, maybe some pics of the reunion, but be sure to come back on Monday for a special post honoring 9-11 from Queen of My Craft Room Design Team! This will be my 1st post as a DT member over there!! How exciting! :)

Have a great Sunday & remember to have a special moment tomorrow to remember all of those that lost their lives on Sept. 11! We will never forget!!

Until next time...

New stamps & punch!

Yesterday I received my Stampin Up order for the month...I just love seeing that brown box on my porch! :) I have been trying to not get SO many stamps but with all the "pennant" craze...I just had to jump in! LOL!!

So, drum roll please....here is my 1st pennant card! :)
Too cute!! I used all Stampin Up products (except for the cording) Berry Blossoms DSP, Pennant Parade stamp set, Pennant punch, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade & Basic Black cardstock....I think I will use this for our next Stampin Club! Ooops!! Maybe I shouldn't have shown it...hmm, let's see how many of my "Club Buddies" actually read my blog!! {evil grin}

Anyway, since I had some scraps laying around I also threw together this card!
All the same except I used Cameo Coral ribbon...doesn't match EXACTLY but I think it works!! ;) And added some butterflies I had left over from a card from last week!

Well, that's it for today! I hope to be in the craft room more tomorrow! I just enjoy being in there SO much!! Wanted to be there more today but UGH! Had to clean the house...BORING!! :)

Until next time...

Would You Guess Wednesday

Welcome to another Would You Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!!

Today I used the cart Life's A Party! I really like this cart and all the different projects that can be done for parties!!
I cut the main card at 5 1/2" and the greeting at 2 1/2". I also cut the shadow for the greeting...and I cut the greeting twice so I could cut off the star to make it a different color! I actually used all scraps for this card, so I am not completely sure which background paper this is ...sorry! :) I cut the top layer in different colors also, to use the different color stars on top! Lot's of layers on this card! Oh and of course...Stickles!! :)

Here is the inside...I only added adhesive to the sides and bottom of the plaid piece so that I could slip in a giftcard or cash!
Head on over to My Cricut Craft Room to see some fabulous projects from some of the other Design Team members!! Have a great day!! :)

Until next time...

1st Pink by Design Stamps!!

Well I FINALLY ordered my first set of Pink by Design  stamps!! I got them over the weekend but of course didn't have the time to even open the package!! UGH!! So yesterday I broke them out & inked them up! I really like the quality of these stamps & there are SO many sets over there!! Definitely will be shopping there more! :)

So here is the first card I made with the Flying High set....which happens to be on sale right now! When I first saw this set I instantly thought of my Grandpa!! When I was in elementary school, my Grandpa worked at Kelly AFB as a Project Manager. One of the things he did every year was design the float for the Fiesta Parades here in town. The float would also "make appearances" in all the little towns around us for any parade they might have. Anyway, one year he made a replica of an old airplane & had it sitting on "clouds" (see pic below, the clouds were made of that spray foam, which back then was WOW amazing! It was so exciting to see them forming those clouds!!) ...it looked like the plane was flying down the street! To me, it was THE coolest thing EVER!! AND I got to ride in the plane as the pilot!! In every parade I was up there, waving to everyone down on the streets! I even had a costume (which I still have!) of fight gear! Goggles, hat, flight jacket & boots! They said I looked just like Amelia Earhart! :) Here is a pic I found recently with me & the Queen of Kelly AFB!! I was 9 or 10 yrs old at the time! I looked all over in my stuff for a pic of my plane...but I guess I don't have one! :( Will need to ask Mom for one!
My Grandpa has always had a love of planes & even owned a couple many years ago!
So this plane stamp reminds me of him every time I see it!
I (again!!) used the DCWV Safari stack...this stack is so versatile!! I never would have thought it had so much in it!! A very simple card...stamped the image, matted it, added some twine to the back mat & popped up the main image! Done!!

Come on back tomorrow for another Would You Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room! I have a post as part of the Design Team for tomorrow, you WON'T want to miss it!! :)

Until next time....
