Card Creating Tuesday!!

Hello!! Long time no see!! Wow what a wonderful Thanksgiving week we had over here! More on that in a minute but first things first! Welcome to Card Creating Tuesday's over at My Cricut CraftRoom!! I decided to change things up a bit and not do a Christmas card! {{GASP!!}} I thought I would do a card from the cart "9 Months"...I don't know anyone that is expecting or just had a baby never know when you might need that baby card! :) Last weekend I got to meet a super sweet new crafty friend! Mignon, AKA
Princess Cricut Cutz, and I met on FaceBook, then I "introduced" her to Tammy (My BCB!!) and then she joined us on the other DT I am on!! Well, the 3 of us have become fast friends & I am sure that we will be hanging out alot more in the future! Anyway, when we got together, I got to "borrow" some of her Cricut carts & "9 Months" was one of them! I didn't have a baby cart & this one is so cute! :) So a HUGE thank you to you Minn-izzle!! LOL!!

I also got in my DT box last week, this stamp set with "baby" animals & was just dying to use it! I just love these patchwork animals!! SO I colored him with my SU watercolor pencils & blended with a blender pen! Then cut "Baby" from "9 Months" layered it & of course blinged it up with Stickles!
Now a real quick little something about Thanksgiving...I am the biggest dork EVER!!! Look at these pics and tell me what is missing...

Looks yummy huh??? But how about...MY GUESTS!!!!???? I didn't take ONE picture of anybody!! Seriously??? Guess we now know where my brain was that day! Needless to say, we had a fabulous dinner (even though we were all in shorts!! Ugh!! Tx weather!!) Then of course Hubby, Travis & I hit the Black Friday sales! Although, we didn't do the standing in line stuff or going at midnight!! We took the easy way & went to Target...they opened at 10pm and we went at 5:30 AM and still got everything we wanted!! Went next door to Office Max at 6:00, got everything we wanted there too! Went to Home Depot & Lowes...same thing! I said we either just had THE best Black Friday experience or we wanted crappy stuff that no one else wanted!! LOL!!

Anyway, now it time to focus on Christmas!! It is finally cold here & should stay that way for a while! Yay!!

Head on back to My Cricut CraftRoom for some more DT posts for Card Creating Tuesday! :) Have a great day!

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥

Would You Guess Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!! Family, fun & LOTS of food!! :) But first, let's do Would You Guess Wednesday at My Cricut the DT uses only the feature keys on the Cricut overlay! Today I am using "A Child's Year" and this is kind of strange but this card is kind of "Spring-y"!! Even though it is Thanksgiving week and almost Christmas...sometimes you still need a bright cherry card for that special someone! :) AND as I was looking through the different cards you can cut on the card feature, this one just popped out at me!
The card feature key cut out the yellow card (I cut it at 8 1/2") and I added the Melon Mambo to the backside. I pieced the Melon Mambo flowers and the Kiwi Kiss leaves/stems on the back, then covered it with the Melon Mambo piece. Added some gems to the flower centers & some "doodles" with my white gel pen! I used a stamp that I got this weekend for being on the My Crciut CraftRoom DT! Speaking of....

Here are some pics of the awesome boxes I got this weekend! Now, just so you know...SOME of this was for being on the DT and some was items I purchased from My Cricut CraftRoom store! But it all came together in 2 big boxes on Saturday!! Holy Schnikes I had SO much fun just looking through it all!! And then the fun part of putting it all away!! =/ I eneded up spending TWO DAYS cleaning my craft area to make room for all of it! BUT my room is so nice & clean...ready to be messed up again!! :)

Just look at all this fun stuff!! Thank you again Erica for all the great stuff!! :) Now head on back to My Cricut CraftRoom to see what some of the other DT members have made today!!

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥

Becky's Sweet Creations Weekly Challenge-Christmas Ornament

Ok I know it's not even Thanksgiving and I have done a few Christmas posts already but when your Design Team leader tells you to make an make an ornament!! LOL!! JK Becky!! :) Slowly but surely I am getting into the Christmas spirit! I cleaned my craft area for the last TWO days since I got TWO boxes of new stuff from one of my DT leaders (pics tomorrow!!) and I listened to Christmas music the entire time! It made me want to clean & get this house in order!! I took new pics of my new, clean craft area and will post those on Friday! I finally learned how to "write" on my pics to explain what everything is, so I will be doing that this week!

Now on to my ornament! This was our DT challenge this week for Becky's Sweet Creations DT! My favorite "thing" at Christmas time is snowmen!! I LOVE them!! They are SO cute!! I have TONS for my Christmas collection & even if I don't put out ALL of my Christmas decorations, they are the first to be out out! And of course my tree!! So of course I had to do a SNOWMAN ROSETTE!! :)

Isn't he so stinkin' cute!! I used the Martha Stewart border punch, it's actually stars but I think it can pass for snowflakes too! Then the snowman in the middle is pieced together came with the faces, hats, snowflakes, & the holly. And I added ribbon for his scarf! :)

Be sure to check Becky's blog all week to see what other ornaments the DT has come up with!

Until next time...

Imagine-ation Monday

Wow! Can you believe it is already Thanksgiving week??? Where has the year gone? In a blink of an eye we will be wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! It's kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit here in we were in shorts & hot!! Ugh!! I see alot of friends on FaceBook from other states already decorating for Christmas, I hear all the Christmas songs on the radio...but I just can't get into it...yet!!

BUT, I know it is creeping up & so I have to get some Christmas cards done! Today is Imagine-ation Monday over at My Cricut CraftRoom & the Design Team uses only their Imagine machines to create projects for today! Now I don't own an Imagine (yet!! fingers crossed!!), BUT my BCB (Best Crafting Buddy) does & so I when I go over to craft with her, I cut & print some images to use on the DT! So today I have a Christmas card to share with you! I used the cart "Best of Seasons" to create today's card!
Isn't this a simple, yet gorgeous card? I used the new embossing folder from Stampin Up called "Snow Burst" and then sprayed it with Glitter is beautiful in real life!! Then I added my image and of course some Stickles for some sparkly snow! And I finished it off with some amazing ribbon (also from SU) and an embellishment that is part of a set that I recently won on a blog hop with Creative Charms!! I had never heard of them before the blog hop, but OMG they have some SUPER CUTE embellishments!! This is the 1st one I have used...but most definitely not the last!!!

Head on over to My Cricut CrafRoom for more inspiration form some of my DT sisters!! You won't be disappointed!!

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥

Can't...Stop....Making...Rosettes!!! And Organization Friday!

Ok I am seriously addicted!!! =/ I made my first rosette MONTHS ago and wasn't too impressed! SO I never made another one...then a couple of weeks ago I was at my BCB's (Best Crafting Buddy!!) house and we tried one..not impressed again!! SO the other day, I see a video on a Tim Holtz die that makes rosettes, I also saw that there is a Cricut cart for rosette's too....well I watched the video & thought "Hmm, looks cool but then you can only make one size!" and then I thought "I can do this myself"!! So I got to work...cut the strip, scored it, used a border punch for fancy edges...and OMG!!! I am addicted!!! I can't even begin to tell you how many I have made in the couple of days!! All different sizes, colors, name it, I have made it!!

So then yesterday, Mom asked me to make her a baby card & a gift box for a co-worker...and guess what I made for the card??? :)
I took the paper from the background (only one 12x12 sheet of paper) and made the card, the rosette AND the box! LOVE when that happens!! I used a My Pink Stamper stamp & curved it to fit the scallop oval punch...added some pearls and some really cool ribbon I got in a swap a few months ago (wish I had more of that ribbon!! Love it!! If anyone knows what kind it is...let me know!)
And here is the set together...
Mom loved the card & gift box! :)

Now on to Organization Friday!! Today I am showing how I store my Big Shot "stuff"!! I have A LOT of embossing folders, dies & other stuff! I'm sure some of you have more...but holy moly I think I have a lot!! SO I had a friend of mine make me this box a few years ago...We measured the folders and all the different sizes of dies and then she came up with this...This bottom part slides into the big box to take up space...almost like an open drawer!
(BTW: I have my XL dies on a shelf above this!) I had gotten rid of some of my dies (a while back) because I just wasn't using them, especially after I bought my Cricut! So these are the ones I really like and still use! But the embossing that is a different story!! I ♥♥♥♥ my embossing folders!! In fact I just bought about 5 more over the weekend that I haven't received yet! I like the big ones, the small ones & the border folders too! Here are close-ups...
I label all my big folders & keep them in alpha order (Stampin Up folders are in front, then all the rest)
And here is the top of this box....with all my border folders and all my plates...which I keep in a letter sorter
Well I hope this helps you in some way!! Please let me know how you organize your stuff too! I always LOVE new ideas!!

And don't forget to enter my give away for the My Memories Software!! So far there aren't that many entries!! Theme Day Thursday-Animals

It's Theme Day Thursday over at My Cricut CraftRoom!! This week the DT was challenged to use "Animals" in their project!! So I chose to use FROGS!! :) I had just received my monthly stamp set from Stamps of Life (LOVE these stamps!!!) and this month the stamps were all about FROGS!! So I knew EXACTLY what cart I had to go to...Create-A-Critter!! (LOVE this cart!!) LOL!! I cut my frog at and inked the edges. I pieced him together and then added my Stickles to his tummy & cheeks!!
Then I used my new stamp set Froggy2Love!! Isn't this SO cute!!???!!! :) I just love the flies...although I HATE flies in real life! LOL! Too weird!! Anyway...Head on over to My Cricut CraftRoom to see more Animal creations from my DT Sisters!!

And don't forget to enter my give away for the My Memories Software!! So far there are only FOUR entries!! SO you have a super great chance to win!! :) Go HERE to see the original post!! Guest Designer!! Decorate to Celebrate...

Good morning!! Today I am so excited to be doing a post as Guest Designer forDecorate to Celebrate! If you have never been to the DTC blog, please stop by & check it out! Amazing ideas & tons of inspiration over there! :)

This month at DTC, there is a HUGE birthday celebration going on! This month isRhonda's bday & next month is Amy's! So they have decided to celebrate all month long with guest designers, blog hops & many more exciting events!

Last week I showed you the invitations for my Mom's birthday party next month (you can see those HERE) and this week I will show a couple of the party favors I have come up with! I think I like the bag the far!! LOL! :) I wonder how many times I will change my mind before next month??? ;-)
The bag is from "Tags, Bags, Boxes & More" cut at 5" and embellished with some paper and butterflies like on the invitation!

And the crown cupcake wrapper is from "Cupcake Wrappers"...I searched the internet before cutting because I was sure that SOMEONE had come up with an easy way to figure out the size for these things! And boy was I glad I did! I saw SO many blog entries from people getting so frustrated with the sizes for the different cupcakes! BUT I found a post on the Cricut forum where someone said she found a way to make them fit! Put your Cricut on FIT TO LENGTH and cut at 8"...worked like a charm!! Now I probably won't do cupcakes (although who knows, maybe I will!!) but what I really wanted them for is for little treat cups.I added a cupcake wrapper & then at the actual party I was thinking of putting nuts or little candies sitting around the tables! All I had today was caramels but you get the idea!

I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Amy & Rhonda for letting me be a Guest Designer today & I hope you enjoyed the projects!  :) And be sure to stop in at DTC all month for some wonderful birthday ideas!!

Don't forget to enter my drawing for My Memories Software!  Click HERE to enter (ends Nov 20th)  or use the code on my sidebar to get $10.00 off the software AND a $10.00 store credit!! :)

This year we won't have as many but it will still be great to have family here and get ready for the Christmas holidays!!
I printed out the invitation on my computer and then ran that through the CuttleBug folder "Gracie O's"...I added some pearls and (say it with me!!) STICKLES!! I also inked the edges of my leaves and the actual invitation!

Hope you enjoyed today's Card Creating Tuesday!!

My Memories FREE Software Giveaway!!!

Recently I was contacted by My Memories and asked if I would feature their software as a give-away on my blog! Well to be honest I had NEVER even USED any digital software!! I know, I know...I am still living under a rock! But I guess I felt like I needed to have the paper & embellishments in my hot little hands before it looked good! Boy was I EVER wrong!! I have heard about this software & even seen a couple of layouts done with it, but thought there was no way I could do something like that! But what the hey, I will give it a try! So on Wednesday morning I downloaded the software & opened it up! I was so nervous!! But I started clicking on different things, following the prompts on the screen and....HOLY SCHMOLIES!! I made a layout!! It was just random pics & some pre-set templates but it wasn't too bad! And it was actually kinda fun!

So then I got brave...I started with a blank page & designed a page completely on my own! And this football page of Trevor was the first one I did!

I started with the background paper then I added all the pics & frames myself, then the ric-rac, then the wording! It took me longer to figure what pictures I wanted then to actually make the page! So then I made one for Travis...
It was so cool because if I didn't like it, I just removed it & put something else! And here is one for Hubby & I...our anniversary is next week, 22 years!! WOW!!
I also went to the My Memories website & was able to download tons of more FREE papers, embellishments, templates, etc...I spent ALL day on the computer playing with this software! AND I also found out I can design my own Blogger backgrounds & headers!! I am SO excited about that!!

So here is the deal....First off I have a special code for all of my friends! Just go to and enter the code STMMMS66381 and you will receive a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the store - $20 value!

Festive Friday

Good morning & TGIF to all of you!!! Today is Festive Friday over at My Cricut CraftRoom! This is the first time I have participated in Festive Friday! I think I have done every day now except Saturday (Scrapbook Saturday, which I am not into scrapbooking too much!) So first I thought I would do Thanksgiving for today's project, but then decided to do winter!! It's finally getting cold here in Texas...well for a couple of days then it's back to the 80's again =/

But Wanting to get into the holiday mood, I knew snowflakes would do the trick! :) I recently "acquired" the cart "When It's Cold Outside" thanks to my BCB Tammy!! I just LOVE the snowflakes on this cart!! Absolutely GORGEOUS!! And here is my project for today....
I cut three different snowflakes & on each one, I cut the top layer in light blue & the shadow layer in silver. I cut each one at 3.5". Instead of layering them directly on top of the shadow layer, I offset it a little for a little variety! The background paper is from a DCWV HUGE Christmas stack I got last year for Christmas! I then found some snowflake glittery stickers that I added to each one...printed my sentiment on the computer & punched each word out with my circle punch. Inked the edges of the circles & put them in the center of the snowflake! Added some ribbon and a brad. Then made a matching gift card & RSVP pen! Below is some close-up pics of each snowflake...

I really love how this turned out! So festive!! :) Be sure to head on over to My Cricut CraftRoom to see more Festive Friday projects! :) I have a SUPER EXCITING give-away this weekend...and oh boy are you going to love it!! (Who doesn't love give-aways???) So be sure to check back during the weekend! The give-away will be going on all weekend so you have plenty of time to check it out! :)

Until next time...

Becky's Sweet Creations Weekly Challenge- Tri-Fold Card

Hello!! The DT's challenge this week over at Becky's Sweet Creation's is to create a Tri-Fold card! We can use any colors, embellishments, etc...When I first heard this challenge, I instantly thought of the card I am going to show you, but some of my DT sisters had different ideas on a Tri-Fold card so be sure to go see what they have come up with this week!

I started with a 12x12 cardstock & cut that to 5 1/2" x 12", I then scored it at 4" & 8". And then I got to decorating! :) I used some patterned paper I got at Wal-Mart (I didn't even realize they had cool paper there!! I bought 2 packages last time I went!) I then I cute a square to add to the front & stamped my sentiment and of course added some bling!! Love rhinestones almost as much as Stickles!! :)

Here is the card when it is open...
Remember to head on over to Becky's Sweet Creation's to see what the rest of the DT has come up with for this challenge! Tomorrow I will be participating in Festive Friday over at My Cricut CraftRoom! This will be my first Festive Friday and I have to say...I LOVE my project!! LOL!! :)

Also, I picked the winner from the blog hop this weekend....
Suzy's Crafts said "Your hog wild card made me smile. Great job!" Congrats Suzy!!! I will be emailing you today for your info! :)

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥

Guest Designer!! Decorate to Celebrate!

Good morning!! Today I am so excited to be doing a post as Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate! If you have never been to the DTC blog, please stop by & check it out! Amazing ideas & tons of inspiration over there! :)

This month at DTC, there is a HUGE birthday celebration going on! This month is Rhonda's bday & next month is Amy's! SO they have decided to celebrate all month long with guest designers, blog hops & many more exciting events!

With this being a Birthday Celebration, I decided to start on my Mom's birthday invitations! She is turning 60 on Dec 17th so we are throwing a big party for her here at my house! How exciting!! So this week I will be showing you the invitations & some "place setting" cards! Next week, I will be doing the party favors & some decorations, so be sure to come back for that!

Here are the invitations...
I printed out the wording on the computer & then ran it through my Big Shot with the "Gracie O's" embossing folder..I honestly can not believe it came out so well!! LOL! Everything fit perfectly! And on the first try! :) I inked the edges and then cut some butterflies with my Butterfly Embosslit from Stampin Up! I just had to use purple since it is Mom's favorite color too! Like Mother, like Daughter...we both LOVE purple!! I layered some of the butterflies and added some rhinestones to their middles and some to the "breaks" between the wording. And then added some Stickles to the edges of the wings! Here is a close-up of the invitation....
Since we will be having so many people here, it won't be a sit down dinner but instead a "light dinner" or appetizers. SO instead of making place cards for everyone, I am making food place cards (??) Little signs that will be placed in front of the food so everyone knows what everything is! Maybe I should say "food labels"?? Hmm...not too sure but you get the idea!

Not completely sure what we will be serving so I just made up a sample card to show....
I used all the same techniques as I did in the invitation because of course, everything has to coordinate! :)

I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Amy & Rhonda for letting me be a Guest Designer today & I hope you enjoyed the projects! Come on back next Wed the 16th for the rest of the party decorations! :) And be sure to stop in at DTC all month for some wonderful birthday ideas!!

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥

Card Creating Tuesday

I want to start this post by saying HELLO to all my new followers friends! The DT blog hop over the weekend was a huge success and I can't wait to do it again next month! :)

I am typing this post quickly as we have been without internet (GASP!!!) all day & it keeps cutting out even now! I really hope I can at least get this done! =/

Today is Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craftroom and today I am showing you two different cards that I made with some extra cuts I had lying around (Well not just "lying my scrap cut box!!) Sometimes when I am making cards/projects, I cut the wrong size or I change my mind & all those extra cuts go into a drawer I have right in front of my work space. So I decided to pull it out & find something to make a couple of cards!

On this first one, the background is a cut from "Wild Card" and it is just one cut...usually it has a layer on it with a smaller, thinner diamond pattern...but I guess I had changed my mind & just cut this one! I can't remember where I cut the "Happy Birthday" from but it was in my scrap drawer just like this! Already put together! :) I added some Stampin Up ribbon (OMG!! I LOVE this ribbon!!!) and some turquoise gems and DONE!
For the second card I had this Winnie The Pooh face cut for the longest time & had him just sitting there looking at me everyday! LOL! So I put him on a card!He is cut from "Disney: Winnie-The-Pooh"....

Added some Stickles to him and then used an already stamped sentiment (punched out too!) and DONE!

SO the moral of the story is....NEVER throw away your "messed up" cuts from your Cricut! Put them in a drawer, box or basket....and on a rainy day (LOL!!) pull them out and you can create some quick cards! :)

Head on over to My Cricut CraftRoom for more Card Creating Tuesday! You won't be sorry!! My DT Sisters are amazing!

Until next time...

Organization Friday

TGIF!!! TGIF!!! Happy dance!!! :) This has been one crazy week & I for one am glad that it is the weekend!! NOT that it slows down much over the weekend but....hey it's Friday!! :)

Today is Organization Friday & today I am going to show you how I organize my flowers! I {heart} flowers for my projects!! Sometimes it gives the card just that perfect "little something" that it needed! They are also wonderful for covering up mistakes, Um, I mean putting in just the right place! ;-)

We own 16 rent houses & so when Hubby has to do a "make ready" & go clean all the "stuff" left there from the previous renters, he often finds some "rent house surprises" as he calls them! MOST of the stuff is not anything great but when he brought this treasure home to me, I KNEW I wanted it in my craft room for something! Then, I realized there are 9 drawers and nine colors that I organize my things in (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown, white) and there was my A-HA moment! My flowers!! SO here is my gorgeous flower storage! (Thanks Honey!!)
Now i just grab a drawer & take it to my table or just get what I need right there!

Hmm, looks like I need to replenish my black stash! :) In the "white" drawer, I think the flash of the camera changed that one flower, it is more of a vanilla color! It sticks out like a sore thumb in that pic!! LOL!!

Hope you enjoyed today's Organization Friday tip! Come back tomorrow for the 100+ cart blog hop from My Cricut CraftRoom!! This weekend the Design Team has used over 100 different carts and made some amazing projects!! This is a 2 day hop & I am on Day 1 (tomorrow!!) Hope to see you tomorrow! :)

Until next time...

Would You Guess Wednesday

Today is Wednesday so that is Would You Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut CraftRoom! Today is the day the Design Team uses the Feature Keys only on the Cricut overlay! Sometimes it's easy....sometimes it's a challenge!! Today, mine is a little of both!

A few weeks ago my BCB (Best Crafting Buddy) bought me some Prima flowers that look like Poinsettias! They are GORGEOUS!!! (Thanks again Tammy!!) BUT with it still being October a few weeks ago, I didn't want to even begin to think Christmas!! Well now it is November & I can't live in denial anymore! Christmas is right around the corner! So I thought I would break out the Christmas supplies & start now!

I used the cart "Wrap It Up" and made the pillow box....I didn't even KNOW there was a pillow box on there!! LOL!! See, this is why we do Would You Guess Wednesday!! I never would have guessed that was on there! LOL!! I just crack myself up!! :) Anyhoo...I cut the pillow box (shown below) just as it is, flower and all, but if you have a Gypsy, you can "hide" all that and cut a solid pillow box for any occasion!
But since I wanted to use my Poinsettias, I left it as is! I covered the window with acetate (transparencies) and ran it through my Big Shot with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder from Stampin Up! I used cardstock with a white core, so that when I embossed it, it would look distressed. But I also sanded it lightly after embossing.  I added some Stickles (of course!!) and then layered on my Prima flowers held together with a gold glitter brad!! Gorgeous!!
Hope you enjoyed today's project! Head on back to My Cricut CraftRoom for more Would You Guess Wednesday!

Until next time...

Becky's Sweet Creations Weekly Challenge- Swing/Flip Card

Wow!!! Can you believe it is already November 1st???? Holy schmolies this year has gone by fast!! I know Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye & the next thing I know, the kiddos will be out of school! Wow! Anyway, I hope everyone had a fun & safe Halloween last night! My kids actually DID go out trick-or-treating!! I was so surprised! But I figure they are only young for a little while...let them enjoy it now!! :) Here is my 13 yr old....
I asked him what in the heck he is supposed to be and he said....
LOL!!! He is a crazy kid!! He makes me laugh! Can you imagine what he is going to be like in High School??? I worry every day about next year!! LOL!!

Today is my turn to post over at Becky's Sweet Creations! This week the Design Team was challenged to make a swing/flip card! I have done some other versions of this but had never seen this one before! Here is the link to the video...
And here is my card....
A little funny story to go with this...I watched the video & jotted down the directions. When i went to score & cut the card, I guess I did "crafter's shorthand" & couldn't figure out what I had written down!! So instead of watching the video again, I thought "oh I can figure this out on my own!!" WRONG!!! My card did flip, but it flipped in all the wrong places!! It was a "HOT MESS"!! I wish I could take pictures because it was hilarious!! But the pictures don't do it justice!! But here is the correct way it should look! :)

Tomorrow is Would You Guess Wednesday at My Cricut CraftRoom...I will be showing my first Christmas project of the season! Be sure to check back to Becky's Sweet Creations all week to see more from the Design Team! :)

Until next time...
