You and me....CD Case

Good Morning! Thanks for coming by today! Today I want to share with you a CD case I made for Joy's Life DT! Joy gave the DT these CD cases and this week our challenge was to decorate them anyway we wanted to. I decided to make a "Mix CD" (LOL! I remember all the "mix tapes" we would make in high school!! I even have a couple of them and will cherish them for as long as I can listen to them! Brings back SO many memories!) Anyway...next month will be 27 years that Hubby & I met! WOW!! 27 years??? I remember it like it was yesterday! So I thought I would make a CD with "our" songs throughout the years of us being together! Awww!! How sweet! :) :)

I used Stampin Up paper in Poppy Parade (LOVE this color!!) and also some ribbon in the same color. Then added some yummy fibers to the top of the ribbon. I punched out a heart shape and stamped "You and me..." in Poppy Parade. Then I inked the music image stamp from Tag You're It 2 with Poppy Parade, stamped it off on paper then inked it with VersaMark...it gives it just a subtle inking! I didn't add too much because I knew it was for Hubby and didn't think he would want to much "pretty" all over it! :)

I just love these CD's!! I got them years ago and only use them for special CD's! It looks like a record, which of course we listened to ALL the time when we first met!

Retirement and Blingy Birthday!

One of my oldest son's favorite teacher is retiring this year and he wanted me to make him a card....no problem right?? Well it was WAY harder than I thought! The teacher is a retired M Sgt in the Marines and one of the teachers in ROTC at my sons school! Travis was in ROTC for 2 years and he was such a great influence on Travis! Anyway, making a card for a Marine could be hard, but I told my son, "It can't be THAT hard...camo paper, olive greens/browns..." Definitely can't do any bling or sparkles!! So here is what I came up with...

 Not too shabby huh? :) Simple, to the point and definitely manly! :)

SO, after all this testosterone (LOL!!) I needed some BLING! I was supposed to make some girly birthday cards, so I decided to start on those! Look!! Bling! Girly!! :)

 Notice the pink rhinestone flower in the center of the bow above? That is actually a clear rhinestone flower that I colored with a hot pink Sharpie! LOVE doing that! You can have any color you want!

Well that's all for today! We have a jammed pack weekend and we are counting down the days for the last day of school! :) :)

Wishing you all the best-Graduation

Hello!! I'm so glad you came by today! Today is my day to post for Joy's Life DT and this week we are focusing on Graduation! I don't have graduates this year (my oldest will graduate next year!!) but I do know some graduates and my son has a few friends that are graduating. SO I thought I would do a simple card that I can re-produce easily! Our school colors are Maroon & White so that is the colors for this one, but of course you could change it to any colors!

For my graduation hat I cut a 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square and added some twine for the tassel! I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the star border and of course Joy's FABULOUS stamps "Wishing you all the best" from Everyday Occasions!

It's a Party Blog Hop-Joy's Life DT

Hello and welcome to Joy's Life DT May Blog Hop! If you came from Jennie then you are in the right place...if you just dropped in you might want to start back at Joy's Blog to see all the awesome projects! 


Our blog hop this month is all about parties! We are doing decorations, invitations, food & much more! When I was thinking of what to do for this hop, I couldn't think of any holidays or celebrations coming up besides the end of school! YAY!! And as much as we LOVE the end of the school year, we don't do parties for it! Next was my sons bday in June...but he will be 17 (WHAT??? Where did the time go??) and I don't think he really want invitations & party decor! :) SO I decided to do 4th of July! We sometimes do a BBQ with the family and if we do...I will have a head start on my decorations! 


Here is what I came up with....

I will start with the invitations...

I used the Popsicle image from Sweet Popsicle Puns and some paper from Hobby Lobby. I stamped the Popsicle image in Real Red (SU) then used the zig zag design over it in Pacific Point (SU). I colored the stick after with a brown marker. Used my Deckle scissors (my FAVORITE!!) to cut around the image, then sponged some ink on the edges...and of course added some Stickle dots! :) 


Next the table decorations....

 I made some rosettes out of the same Hobby Lobby paper (I just love making these!) and stamped the smaller Popsicle image for the medallion. I covered the image with Stickles for some sparkle. I used Popsicle sticks (He He!!) that I inked up for the sticks! I was hoping to find some red or blue marbles for my jar but clear will have to do for now! 


And now for the party favors...

I used a Lifesaver roll (Needs to be a rolled candy, and the candy needs to have a hole in the center...can't use Mentos, etc...) Cover the roll with Hobby Lobby paper and then pierce a hole through the top center of the roll and stick some foil garland in the hole (this pic is an example of the garland I used...I always find mine at Dollar Tree....)

Then I stamped the sentiment "Happy 4th of July!!!" from Holiday Occasions...this set is amazing!! It has SO many different holidays on it! 


SO now I have a good start to my 4th of July BBQ party!! I just love when I am ahead of the game! :)

Sweet Summertime Wishes

Hello!! So glad you came by today! Today is my day to post for Joy's Life DT! This week our challenge is to create something "sweet"! We could do food sweet or glittery-sugar sweet! I am using a stamp that says "Sweet Summertime Wishes" and also using some Stickles for my glittery-sweet! :) I made some sweet candy jars for a customer to give to her kids teachers for the last day of school! 


A friend of mine found these jars at the 99 cent store (2 for 99 cents!!) So I used some to make some super cute candy jars for my customer to give to her kids teachers for the last day of school! 


I used "Accent Essentials" to make the "sun" image and outlined them with Stickles! 

 Then I stamped my sentiment and cut it out to add it to the lid and put some mini pom-pom ribbon around the neck of the jar!

These are perfect for just a little candy to start the summer vacation off right! :)

Espressly For You

Hello everyone! Laura here from Laura's Crafts & More...This week our challenge is to somehow use flowers on our card! I used some Prima flowers and "Espressly For You" from Tag You're It ONE...I also used the coffee image & the little heart from the same set! 


I have made these cards by hand many times but while I was at work a couple of weeks ago I saw in a catalog we have that we can order them PRE DONE!! They are cut & scored so all you have to do is fold & decorate!!! Holy moly is that awesome or what??? They come in solid colors or white so I chose to get white so I could decorate them like I wanted to. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks to ink up the entire card and then stamped away! 


I think this is the first one layer card I have done in a LONG time...if ever!! 

**Looking at this picture^^^ I think of the 80's video game Qbert** :)

Hello everyone! Laura here from Laura's Crafts & More... This week is SO much fun!! We are showing off some special projects AND having daily give-aways!! For my project I used one of Joy's SUPER cute tubes from the set she has in her store HERE! These are perfect for that special little gift!! 


I used "This calls for chocolate" from the set Tag You're It TWO...is this not  the PERFECT stamp?? It can be used for SO much! I used some K&Company paper, some Stampin Up pom pom ribbon & some chocolate twine to decorate this super cool tube! 


Funny little story...ever since my father-in-law moved (he is diabetic) we have been trying to keep the candy out of the house as much as possible, which by the way is not very easy!! Anyway, when I went to fill the tube with chocolate...I could not find ANY in this house!! WHAT??? I found a stash my younger son had in his drawer from God-only-knows how long ago (Ick!!) and all they had was Whoppers! Ugh! They are a little too big for what I wanted so that is why you can barely see the chocolate in the pic!!

Stamp Club Samples

Sunday was our monthly Stamp Club meeting and I just LOVE it every month when this comes around!! It is SO much fun to be with a group of ladies that are so talented, amazing & funny!! We have the best time! And this month it was well deserved for most of us! So much going on lately with the end of school, testing & not to mention our personal lives!! You just can't beat a day of stamping, laughing & best of all...WINE!! LOL!!


Here are the cards we did this month....I focused on different types of card folding. We did 3 different folds and I have to say that this was one of the only times I LOVED all of the projects! Usually I do alot of second-guessing the projects...but not this time! And everybody loved all of them...well ok not LOVED and not ALL of them...you know who you are! ;)


#1 was a Center Step card found HERE...

#2 was a variation of the Gate-Fold...I can not remember where I found the tutorial though!! =/

And the last & final one (which BTW was my FAVORITE!!) I found HERE...

This is GORGEOUS in real life! I wish you could see the opening & closing of this card! Well I guess you will just have to make one!! :)
