Popping by to say Hi!

Wow! It's been almost a whole week since I have blogged...bad blogger!! :) I have been working some crazy hours at work this week, the store owners are out of town so we are all covering all the shifts! It's been alot of hours but it's been alot of fun too! Got to see some classes I normally wouldn't...and spend more time with all the wonderful customers we have!

I also had my Stamp Club on Friday so I will be getting that post ready probably tomorrow night after work! Hang in there...things WILL get back to normal! Whatever that is! :) :)

But for today I have my weekly post for Joy's Life DT! This week we are using the stamp sets Yummy Puns and/or Sweet Popsicle Puns....I am using "Popping by to say Hi" from Yummy Puns!

My kids (and I!!) LOVE to eat the Jiffy Pop popcorn that you make on the stove...the one that turns into a big foil puffball! So I decided to decorate one to give as a little gift to someone special!

Everytime I think of this Jiffy Pop, I think of "The good ole' days" so I used some paper from Echo Park (Happy Days) that had old-timey ads on it for that "vintage" feel. I used red accents to brighten it up and used my Nestabilities to cut the matting for my sentiment!

Here is a close-up of the super cool stamp! :)

Hoppy Birthday!

Hello! So glad you could join me today! Today I am posting for Joy's Life DT and we are using some fabulous craft containers that Joy sells in her store! There are a few to choose from and I chose to use the 4 oz paint tin w/lid! I am using "Hoppy Birthday" from Lots of Puns...here is the tin before....
And here it is after...
I used some green "leafy" paper I had in my scrap pile and added some really cute gems around the top. I stamped my stamp in Tim Holtz Peeled Paint and cut it too look like a banner and attached it with some green/yellow twine. And then of course put in some Gummy Frogs!! YUM!! I think I ate more than I put in! :) :)

Here is a close-up of the stamp...

Hope you have a fantastic day! I am working all long shifts all week, so there won't be much crafting going on except at work (Have I mentioned I love my job??!!)

Until next time...

You're A Smart Cookie

Good Tuesday Morning!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was a little crazy, a little busy but ended up being fabulous! :)

Today is my day to post over at Joy's Life DT! This week we are making shaped cards! Well, I made shaped TAGS but it's the same thing right?? :) I really love how these turned out! Take a look...

Super cute! Super easy! I used my Nestabilities to cut the circle tag shape (2 layers of cardstock) then punch the "bite" with my scallop circle punch! On the Oreo I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Square Lattice folder and on the Chips Ahoy, I stamped some choc chips on the background! Added a belly band around the box of cookies and tied on my tag!

Here is a close-up of the stamps...

Recipe For Fun Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Recipe For Fun Blog Hop! If you came from Sarabeth, you are in the right place! If you need to start at the beginning go to Joy's Life to see all the amazing projects!

I have to start my post with an apology...yesterday did not go as planned at all! It started with me having to rush my son to the emergency med clinic for a personal medical problem...he is fine now & heeling but needless to say, we were there most of the day and then had to get prescriptions and by the time I got home I had the beginnings of a migraine! I took some medication and rested but was not able to make my cupcakes that I wanted for this hop =/ I have made them before and love the recipe so trust me, they are delicious!! I was glad that I had at least started my project the day before, but was not able to do as much as I wanted! I am so sorry that this project is not complete but I know that my kids always come first!

So with that being said, here is my project for this hop! I chose to use "Happy Cake Day" from the set Yummy Puns...I wanted to make these tie-dye cupcakes....I made something like this on Easter too! They are so much fun to make and they are different every time!

And here are my cupcake containers...

How fun are these?? I found these at my local grocery store in a package of 4! Wouldn't these be a cute little gift for anyone's bday? (Just imagine them with a cupcake actually IN them!!) I wanted to decorate the tops and thought it would be cool to stamp "Happy Cake Day" all over but geez it was hard! SO I took my stamp OFF the acrylic block, stuck it to my finger and stamped! EASY!! And using your finger you can manipulate the stamp and curve it around any surface!! It worked so well!! A couple of them "double stamped" but it kind of adds character! And of course, I always say...it's not perfect...it's handmade!! :) On the pink one I used Perfect Pearl pen to add my black dots!

And here is a close-up of the amazing stamps!

And here is the recipe...

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® white cake mix Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box Betty Crocker® gel food colors or paste food colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple)

2 containers (1 lb each) Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy white frosting
·
1.        Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place white paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
·         Make cake batter as directed on box for cupcakes, using water, oil and eggs. Divide batter evenly among 6 medium bowls. Add a different food color to each bowl to make red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Place 1 level teaspoon of each color batter into each muffin cup, layering colors in order of rainbow—red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Do not stir! Each cup will be about half full.
·         Bake 17 to 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pans; place on cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
·         Meanwhile, divide frosting evenly among 3 medium bowls. Tint 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 blue with food colors. Refrigerate about 30 minutes.
·         In large (16-inch) disposable decorating bag fitted with #6 star tip, place spoonfuls of each color of frosting side by side, alternating colors and working up from tip of bag. Do not mix colors together. Starting at 12 o’clock on outer edge of each cupcake and using constant pressure on bag, pipe frosting clockwise for 3 rotations, working toward center and ending in small peak. Store loosely covered.

Hope you enjoyed my project today! Next head on over to the super talented Jennie! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hugs Sand Kisses

Hello!! SO glad you were able to stop by today! Today I am posting for Joy's Life DT and this week we are showcasing Joy's new stamp set Pun In The Sun! This set is SOOO cute! I just love it!! I am using "Hugs Sand Kisses" (Isn't that just THE cutest sentiment???)

A few months ago I had a customer ask me to make some invites with mermaids, then changed her mind! I had already cut out the mermaids so I put them in my die cut stash for later...well I pulled one out for this card today! It was perfect!! I can't remember what size I cut the mermaid at though, sorry! I used some tan Core'idnations paper and tore it for the sand look then added some cute buttons (after I cut off the backs of course!) for embellishments! Super cute & super easy! :)

Here is a close-up of the awesome stamp...
Be sure to head on over to Joy's Life to see more of what the DT has created with this amazing set! :)

You're Soda-lightful

Happy 4th of July to everyone!! And before we begin with today's project a HUGE thank you to all who have or are serving in the military! And also a HUGE thank you to their spouses too! :)

Now onto business (lol!!) today is my post for Joy's Life DT and this week we are making 3-D items! (Ooo & Ahh!!) If you are a regular to my blog you know I love making cards but I think gift items are a VERY close second! I just love altering something and making it "really cool" to give to someone! AND seeing their reaction?? Priceless!!

Today I am using You're Soda-lightful" from Yummy Puns...now if this is your first time here or you have never heard of Joy's Life stamps...well let me tell you, they are AMAZING!! Good quality, awesome images & sentiments AND Joy is SUPER sweet! You get the whole package!! :)

Here is my project...

How cute is this?? I used Tim Holtz papers for the entire project and some old bottle caps I had saved! This is root beer which to me is an "old-timey" "distressed" kind of soda...so I knew I had to use Tim papers! I stamped the super cool sentiment on vanilla paper and punch it out with an oval scallop punch. I then used my leftovers to make a rosette for the front! And added some fibers for that little special touch! ;)

Here is a close-up of the stamps...

See what I mean...AMAZING stamps!! (I did not apply full pressure when stamping these...remember I was going for the distressed look!)
