Snowman Soup

Well it feels like I haven't blogged in forever!! It HAS been 2 whole weeks!! So much has been going on around here...I was sick for a week, then Thanksgiving...then getting ready for Christmas decorating! Whew!! Well, I am here today for a post on Joy's Life DT! Have I mentioned before how much I love this team?? Not only are my DT sisters amazing, and Joy is, well a joy to work with, but I also make sure that I craft at LEAST once a week and make something so fun! Lately I haven't been crafting as much as I want to, but I hope to change that soon! 

Anyway, back to the project! This week we are making bags and/or boxes and using Joy's fun Christmas stamps...Oh, Christmas Puns, It's All Fall, Wintery Puns, Holiday Occasions or Yummy Puns and All Around Sentiments!

I made a "popcorn box" from TBBM...I just love this little box! So simple yet so many different options to decorate it!

I used a SU embossing folder and then inked over it with some silver ink. I inked the edges also...I stamped the sentiment using the masking technique so that I could fit it in my punched piece and added some silver Stickles around the edge! Inside the bag is some hot chocolate mix, mini candy canes & marshmallows! Yum!! :)

Joy's Life DT Blog Hop-Tags & Bags

This month we are featuring Tags & Bags using Wintery Puns, Oh Christmas Puns, Yummy Puns or All Around Sentiments. I am using Wintery Puns this time! I just received this set (AND the brand new Oh Christmas Puns!!) and couldn't wait to ink this baby up! :) :) I got some corrugated cardstock at work last week and just knew I HAD to make snowflakes with it so I combined the two and came up with this....

  I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 to make my crayon box...cut at 5.5" I used the extra top layer (cut it down just a bit) and embossed that with a snowflake embossing folder. I inked the edges with "Faded Jeans" Distress Ink. I cut my large snowflakes from a Sizzixx die...this corrugated cardstock is shimmery, sparkly and just gorgeous!!! I cut 2 snowflakes and layered them. Then stamped my sentiment with Faded Jeans and cut the banner tag by hand. Inked the edges and added some Stickles (Star Dust) for more sparkle!

Wish You A Merry Christmas

Hello!! I sure wish I could get back on track with my postings! I am so happy for all of you that have stayed on and kept reading even though I haven't been posting as often! It seems our lives have been overtaken by school...the boys are knee-deep in school and it seems that there is something going on all the time! And now BOTH of them have girlfriends!! :) I am so happy for them and really like both girls! They celebrated Homecoming last week and both of them were so excited! Trevor is a freshman, so this is his first Homecoming and he was over the top excited! And on the other hand, this is Travis' last Homecoming! Bittersweet!!

Anyway...today I am posting for Joy's Life DT and this week the DT is making TAGS!! I LOVE making tags!! So I was so excited about this week....then Homecoming happened!! LOL! Week before last it was JUST Homecoming....last week it was Homecoming WITH girlfriends!! O...M...G!! Mums, corsages, dress shirts, ties, dance tickets, football game tickets, pictures...Unbelievable!!!! So when i FINALLY sat down to make my tag, I was SO ready to craft!! I used All Around Sentiments to make my tag...:"Wish You A Merry Christmas" 

I used Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn & Barn Door) and LOTS of Stickles!! :) I also used the new Tim Holtz tinsel...love this stuff!! It looks like it doesn't match in the pic but really it does! ;)
