Welcome to another fabulous blog hop with Joy's Life DT!
You should be coming over from Cyndi's blog!
This month we are trying our hand at the ever popular Mini Books! When I first saw this month's theme, I thought "Uh Oh!!" I am an ADD crafter and don't like long projects! LOL! I can do cards, gifts, etc but books just aren't my thing! But I thought well this IS a MINI book so how bad could it be? And I am always up for a challenge! ;)
So my 1st thing to do was think of a theme I wanted to do...well for some reason I already have Valentine's on the brain (I guess because at work we already have all our Valentines deco & new stamps out!) so I decided to go with Valentine's Day! And after hours of trying to look at stamps, Cricut carts, paper and ink colors...this is what I came up with!
Now 1st I want to say...I hope this is what Joy was talking about! LOL! This is what I thought "Mini Books" are! :) I used a few different stamps/sets from Joy to complete my book (I will list them at the end of this post!) I cut my hearts out from the Cricut cart Simply Charmed and on one of them I hid the "face" that was on there to have a solid heart. I used some lace ribbon all around the front & back edge for that Valentiney look! (He He! Is that a word??)
So when it came to figure out what to put IN the book...well that was a whole different story! I could NOT figure it out and thought & thought & thought...then it hit me! I could make this for my son's girlfriend for VDay and she could...put pictures in it of him & her!! YES!! Now how should I make it to where she knows its for pictures??? AHA!! Picture Frames!! And of course they HAVE to be hearts!!
TA-DA!! Now she can just sip in the pics behind the hearts! I used my Gypsy and knew I wanted a 4x4 piece of paper so I just put the heart image on there and used the negative to make my frames! :) I decorated with more fabulous stamps from Joy and some pearls & Stickles on the front and I was done! Oh and of course I bound it with my Cinch!
Here is some close ups of the super cute stamps I used...
I actually really like the way it turned out! Although I did have a hard time not trying to start something else! LOL!
Stamps used:
"Hello Sweetie" Yummy Puns
"Lucky Me..." You're So Punny
"Love You" All Around Sentiments
"You are Beautiful..." & "I <3 You" Mother/Daughter
