I Love You

Hello! Welcome to my blog! Today is my day to post over at Joy's Life DT! This week we are making projects using Joy's gorgeous stamp set Joyful Hearts. These hearts are simple beautiful! And they ink up so nicely! I decided to make a small candy bouquet for my son's girlfriend for Valentine's Day...This is just one of her presents, and I couldn't let him just give her PLAIN candy! Oh the horrors!! SO I dressed them up a bit....

1st I stamped the sticks with the "I Love You" stamp from this was a little tricky, but I went ahead and used one of my FAVORITE crafting finger! :) I put a couple of glue dots on my index finger and attached the stamp, inked it up and stamped the stick. I felt I had more control and I could "roll" my finger to try and get the full stamped image! Then I stamped one of the gorgeous hearts onto pink cardstock, cut them out and adhered them to the front of the sucker.

Here is the finished "bouquet"...

I used a small glass baby food jar, wrapped some paper around it and some ribbon. Added some marbles inside for weight and inserted the lollipops. I cut out one more heart for the front and added a purple "A" (her favorite color) and I was done!

Simple but cute! :) Just the way I like it!!

Stay Toasty

Hello & welcome to my posting for Joy's Life DT! This week the DT is making Winter Themed projects using some of Joy's winter stamps that can be used year round! I used "Stay Toasty" from Wintery Puns to make this cute tin to hold packets of hot chocolate!

Even though Christmas is over, it is still winter and we still need hot chocolate! Well, honestly, here it is 70* BUT somewhere out there it's super cold! LOL!

Happy Valentine's Day

Good morning! This week over at Joy's Life the DT is focusing on New Techniques...of course these can be old techniques but new to us! So I decided to do some water misting with Tim Holtz Inks and I also used Dylusions on top of that! I really like the way it came out! Kind of splotchy and the Dylusions made the color POP!

I used "Happy Valentine's Day!!!" from Holiday Occasions and the heart image is from Joyful Hearts! I first inked up my tag with Worn Lipstick then spritzed it with water. The on top of that sprayed it with Bubblegum Pink Dylusions. Stamped the hearts in Fired Brick and outlined them with White Liquid Pearls. I stamped HVD on white with Fired Brick and spritzed it with Bubblegum Pink Dylusions! Also that is on an Action Wobble! :) Love those little things! :)

Here is a close-up of the stamps....

Hope you enjoyed my tag and be sure to stop by the DT blog for tons of inspiration every week! :)

Joy's Life DT Mini Book Blog Hop

Welcome to another fabulous blog hop with Joy's Life DT!

You should be coming over from Cyndi's blog!

This month we are trying our hand at the ever popular Mini Books! When I first saw this month's theme, I thought "Uh Oh!!" I am an ADD crafter and don't like long projects! LOL! I can do cards, gifts, etc but books just aren't my thing! But I thought well this IS a MINI book so how bad could it be? And I am always up for a challenge! ;)

So my 1st thing to do was think of a theme I wanted to do...well for some reason I already have Valentine's on the brain (I guess because at work we already have all our Valentines deco & new stamps out!) so I decided to go with Valentine's Day! And after hours of trying to look at stamps, Cricut carts, paper and ink colors...this is what I came up with!

Now 1st I want to say...I hope this is what Joy was talking about! LOL! This is what I thought "Mini Books" are! :) I used a few different stamps/sets from Joy to complete my book (I will list them at the end of this post!) I cut my hearts out from the Cricut cart Simply Charmed and on one of them I hid the "face" that was on there to have a solid heart. I used some lace ribbon all around the front & back edge for that Valentiney look! (He He! Is that a word??)

So when it came to figure out what to put IN the book...well that was a whole different story! I could NOT figure it out and thought & thought & thought...then it hit me! I could make this for my son's girlfriend for VDay and she could...put pictures in it of him & her!! YES!! Now how should I make it to where she knows its for pictures??? AHA!! Picture Frames!! And of course they HAVE to be hearts!!

TA-DA!! Now she can just sip in the pics behind the hearts! I used my Gypsy and knew I wanted a 4x4 piece of paper so I just put the heart image on there and used the negative to make my frames! :) I decorated with more fabulous stamps from Joy and some pearls & Stickles on the front and I was done! Oh and of course I bound it with my Cinch!

Here is some close ups of the super cute stamps I used...

I actually really like the way it turned out! Although I did have a hard time not trying to start something else! LOL!

Stamps used:
"Hello Sweetie" Yummy Puns
"Lucky Me..." You're So Punny
"Love You" All Around Sentiments
"You are Beautiful..." & "I <3 You" Mother/Daughter

Thanks for stopping by and now you should go to June's blog! And here is the entire line-up in case you need it!

I Love You

Well hello there! Long time no see! Wow what a busy holiday season we had over here! It was non-stop the 1st week but then slowed down a little the last week! Now we are trying to get back into the routine again...ugh!!

Today over at Joy's Life DT we are using any new products we had in our stash or got for Christmas....I only got a couple of things crafty for Christmas so I went into my stash and found just a "few" new things <wink wink> LOL!!

I used some paper from "Webster's Pages" that I got a few months ago and never opened! (Gasp!!) That is the paper on the left side of the card...then I layered it on vanilla paper and sprayed it with Gold Shimmer Mist. I added some Cherry Ice Stickles and inked the edges with Black Soot. My stamp is also from my new stuff! Right before Christmas I bought the last 2 sets from Joy that I needed to complete my set! I know have every single stamp she has made! Yay me! :) One of the ones I got was Mother/Daughter so I used "I Love You" to stamp on the right side! Very simple but I think very pretty! :) :)

Here is a close-up of the fabulous stamp...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and safe New Years! Now it's time to start getting ready for Valentine's Day! :)

Until next time... ♥ Laura ♥
